SUMMER PRACTICE (PRE SEASON)

Incoming Freshman must complete the online Application (APPLY HERE), receive their Student ID# and enroll in the Summer Volleyball Class. Once athletes receive their enrollment date, they must set up a meeting with the Athletic Academic Counselor, Lily Mozafari: (310) 287-4273, mozafal@wlac.edu
Players who wish to compete will be required to attend Summer workouts starting July 17th. Summer class will run Monday-Thursday 11-2pm. Players must have coach approval to register for the Summer class. KIN ATH 563 - MANDATORY FOR ALL VOLLEYBALL ATHLETES

FALL PRACTICE (IN SEASON)

Summer workouts continue into the first day of Fall classes.
Fall classes begin Aug 28th. On this day practice time will change to 5:30-7:30pm.
Physicals are due Aug 15th. WLAC will host medical doctors the first week of August to provide athletes with free physical exams. Athletes may also use their own doctor to complete the exam, paperwork (below) must be filled out correctly. Players will not be allowed to start practice on the 17th until Physical Form is complete (see document below). Completed Physicals must be turned into the athletic training staff, Vic Pulido or Allison Castillo.
Required Fall Class: KIN ATH 516 (3.0 unit). - THIS CLASS IS MANDATORY FOR ALL VOLLEYBALL ATHLETES, classes begin Aug. 28th. These units count toward the minimum 12 units required for eligibility.
Players may be allowed to red shirt during a season of competition in order to preserve a year of eligibility. Red shirt players will not participate in competitions, however, they will enroll in the volleyball class, practice with the team, participate in all team workouts and activities, and attend all competitions.

SPRING WORKOUTS (POST SEASON)

Team athletes are expected to continue post season workouts 2X weekly Monday and Wednesday from 10:30am to 12:45pm.
Athletes will work on a variety of skills including weightlifting, footwork and explosive technique, and endurance training. WLAC Beach Volleyball will begin Spring of 2022, all volleyball athletes are encouraged to participate. KIN ATH 563 - MANDATORY FOR ALL VOLLEYBALL ATHLETES

SEASON OF COMPETITION AND ELIGIBILITY

Players must be enrolled in a total of 12 units to be eligible to compete.
Players must be enrolled the Intercollegiate Volleyball Class (KIN ATH 516). This course will count as 3 of the 12 units.
Eligibility is updated weekly. If a player drops below 12 units, they will not be eligible to compete.
Players must complete 24 units BETWEEN SEASONS of competition to stay eligible for the following season.
Athletes have 2 seasons of eligibility to compete. Athletes that participate in any competition during the season activate a season of eligibility. An athlete that does not participate in any team competition may preserve a season of eligibility (redshirt)

PHYSICALS

Students enrolled in the Volleyball Class (KIN ATH 516, Section 2190) who wish to compete in the Fall must have a completed physical prior to participating in practices (Aug 15th). Click below to download the Preparticipation Athlete Evaluation (Physical) form that needs to be filled out and signed by a doctor.
West LA College will host complimentary physicals on one designated Saturday prior to the beginning of practices. Date TBD
