West Los Angeles Women's Volleyball program is dedicated to the student athlete. Our goal is to utilize the power in teamwork to help each other become better athletes, better students, and better people. Our mission is to compete and complete! An education is the most valuable asset these athletes will earn for their future.

HEAD COACH - JOHN ANSELMO
A native of Los Angeles, John attended Loyola High School earned a state volleyball championship his Senior year then moved on to compete for the UCLA Men's Volleyball team from 1989-1994 earning two NCAA division 1 National Championship titles. After graduating, John continued his volleyball career competing professionally on the AVP pro beach tour reaching a career high ranking of 17 and earning 4 top ten finishes. He founded WEST Volleyball Club in 2010 and continues to develop competitive youth teams from U12 to U18 age groups indoor and on the beach. John has also spent numerous summers with the USA High Performance Beach Program, a developmental pipeline for potential beach volleyball olympians, working as a youth national team coach, evaluator and group leader. John earned his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from UCLA and has since completed a Masters degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration and an additional Masters degree in Exercise Science from Condordia University Irvine. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to lead a program at WLAC. Though we are a relatively small school, our Athletic Department is like family and our athletes get the attention they need to reach their academic and athletic goals." - John Anselmo
ASSISTANT COACH - SAMANTHA POTTER
Samantha played on four varsity sports teams in her four years at Taft High School in Woodland Hills and led the Taft volleyball team to the CIF City Championships three times. In 2006, her team won the City Championship with a perfect season, receiving the All-City and MVP awards for her efforts. After high school, she competed on the Santa Barbara City College team for one year before transferring to Pierce College where she led her team to a State Championship in 2010 and received an All-Tournament award. Samantha continued her collegiate career at Cal State Los Angeles as an outside hitter. She graduated in December 2013 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Television, Film and Media Studies. (You may have also seen Samantha as runner up on America's Next Top Model.) 2017/18 will be Samantha's 7th season coaching at WEST Volleyball Club and 5th season as the West Los Angeles Women's Volleyball Assistant Coach. She brings high energy and enthusiasm to her teams always bringing out the best in her players.
